Mallett Avenue Media

Branding and website for D.C.–based writer Gillian Gaynair.

Mallett Avenue Media specializes in storytelling about humanitarian causes around the world. Gillian's main goal was to attract new clients — corporations, nonprofits, NGOs and social entrepreneurs — who are committed to improving the human condition. She wanted her company's logo to be bold, confident and somewhat raw, and she wanted the website to immediately convey what she does. For her branding, I chose an earthy yet vibrant color palette featuring warm gray, brick red and goldenrod. To suggest the gritty nature of the stories she's drawn to, I chose a textured typeface that's reminiscent of a typewriter. When you visit Gillian's website, it's clear that she's a writer with heart. The three phrases in the homepage slideshow capture her philosophy and mission. And the selection of projects below showcase the breadth of her work. I carried her branding through to her Facebook business and Twitter pages for a cohesive look.
